Kiara Advani opens up about replacing Tara Sutaria in Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh : Bollywood News

Kiara Advani has made a niche for herself post her debut film. But, her breakthrough performance was in Netflix original Lust Stories. Since then, she is on a signing spree and has a string of projects in the pipeline. The actress is currently promoting Kabir Singh which stars Shahid Kapoor in the leading role. But, the role was offered to her after Tara Sutaria had quit the project.

Apparently, Tara Sutaria had to quit the film due to time constraint and then, Kiara Advani came on board. Kiara was approached after director Sandeep Reddy Vanga saw her performance in the Mahesh Babu starrer Bharat Ane Nenu. She recently said that she did a screen test for Shahid Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It seemed like she had locked the film but due to unknown reasons, she wasn’t signed. Then, the film went through a lot of casting changes and the role came back to her. She had asked the director why did he come back to her and he said that he could only see her doing the role. She said that films are truly in someone’s destiny.

Kiara Advani also revealed that it was Arjun Kapoor who told her about Kabir Singh. Since Arjun was the first to be approached for the role before it went to Shahid, he was aware of the script. She revealed that Arjun was aware that she was doing Telugu films and he told her about the film, Arjun Reddy. She loved the film. She said that a few months later she heard about the film being remade in Hindi and the original director will be helming it. So, it was important for her to do the project.

Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, is set to release on June 21.
