After seven years, filmmaker Karan Johar is back as a director. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in his directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the film garnered Rs. 73.33 crore in the first week of its release at the box office. On Thursday, the makers hosted a press conference. Karan Johar talked about the reinvention of romance with his latest release and he mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol will remain romance icons.
Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, Karan Johar said, “Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are romance icons. They represent love in our movies. They have created love. Shah Rukh is love. In fact, Shah Rukh is not a superstar, he is an emotion, and he is love. The way he sings a love song and portrays a love scene; when he says ‘aur paas’, you want to completely go 'paas'!”
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is currently running in theatres. It also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly. It was released in theatres on July 28, 2023.
