The much-awaited trailer of Kalank released on April 3, 2019 in presence of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit. As the film, helmed by Abhishek Varman, follows the period drama set in 1940s, it depicts different love stories. But, it eventually inspired the netizens to create funny memes.
The trailer had Alia say this dialogue, "Mere pass khone ko kuch hai nahi". In the scene, she is in a train while giving a hand to Varun to get inside the train while being pulled by Aditya Roy Kapur from different direction. Most of the memes were focused on this and even IPL 2019 got caught in the crossfire.
