Bollywood actor Sunny Deol who recently riding high on the success of Gadar 2, recently attended the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Participating in a masterclass at IFFI 2023, Sunny Deol found himself in an emotional moment that left him teary-eyed on the stage. Engaging in conversation with three of his most frequent collaborators and successful filmmakers – Rahul Rawail, Anil Sharma, and Rajkumar Santoshi – Deol reflected on his cinematic journey.

During the event, Sunny Deol opened up about the success of Gadar 2, delving into the nuances of his character, Tara Singh, and more. Emotions ran high when filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, praising Deol’s talent, stated, “I believe that the industry has not done justice to Sunny's talent. But God has done justice.” Responding to Santoshi's words, Sunny Deol, wiping away tears, admitted, “I just get too emotional; it's my problem.”

Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support he received, Deol shared, “I remember when I met people from the army, the navy and the air force ... The faith they had in the films I made, that is where my positivity came from. Like I have said in previous interviews that mujhe laga ki rab mere andar agaya hai.”

Reflecting on his iconic character, Tara Singh, from the Gadar series, Sunny Deol emphasized its universal appeal, stating, “Jo Tara Singh hai, everyone wants to be like Tara Singh. A wife would want her husband to be like Tara. The husband would want the wife to be like Sakeena.” Regarding the unexpected success of Gadar, he humbly admitted, “The way Gadar succeeded, I had never expected.”

On the work front, Sunny will start shooting for Border 2 in the second half of 2024. The film's studio has promised the biggest War Film in Indian Cinema to Sunny Deol and the actor is charged to commence work on the feature film. Sunny will be accompanied by Ayushmann Khurrana, Ammy Virk, and Ahan Shetty. The director of Border 2 has been kept under wraps for now.
