Hema Malini reminisces about the early days of working with Amitabh Bachchan; says he is ‘sometimes naughty, sometimes serious’ : Bollywood News

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 80^th birthday on October 11. As the world, his fans and colleagues took to social media to wish the legendary actor some of his co-starts from the early days have been reminiscing about working with him. One such individual is actress turned politician Hema Malini, who in a recent interview with Times of India, spoke about her early days and working with Amitabh Bachchan.

Hema Malini, who had worked in a number of films with Amitabh Bachchan remembered the first time they met on sets and worked together claiming that the legendary actor was very ‘quiet on the sets’. “The first time we were working together, he was so quiet on the sets. Then slowly we started talking. It was the time he was meeting producers and directors for work (as a newcomer), and he told me that he saw me on the sets of Abhinetri (1970), where he observed me from a distance.”

Further talking about her journey in the industry and how her path crossed with Amitabh Bachchan multiple times the yesteryears actress added, “From then to now, we have done so many films together... It was after a small gap that I started working in Baghban. I was wondering ki main kaise kar paungi. I was nervous and told him about it. He told me, ‘don’t worry, I am also in the same boat as you, toh hum dono milke saath kar lenge’.”

If that was not enough, concluding her revelation Hema Malini even opened up on what set Amitabh Bachchan apart from the rest at that point of time. Detailing her perspective, Malini claimed that the biggest difference was Bachchan’s attitude of always being ‘ready to explore’. “As an individual, he has garnered so much respect, affection and adoration, yet he’s still the same. I don’t find any change in him. His hair might have turned grey, but nothing’s changed. He is still very naughty, mischievous, and sometimes serious and grumpy. He changes the mood on the sets with his entry and persona. I really feel fortunate that I have worked with him in so many beautiful films and I will always cherish the great box office hits we have given together,” Hema said.
