Director and producer Karan Johar, whose recent production Brahmastra set the box office register jingling made headlines after he announced his departure from Twitter. While his exit from the social media site was attributed to the negativity, Karan himself stated that it was to focus on ‘more positive energies'. Away from the big screens, Karan was recently in conversation with Bollywood Hungama, wherein he spoke about what a pleasure it was working with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan.

On Amitabh Bachchan’s 80^th birthday, speaking about his experience with the legendary actor, Karan Johar added, “We're just blessed to breathe and live in the era of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. The fact that I was able to direct him is one of the biggest ticks on my bucket list as a filmmaker, and I feel so blessed that we've done such lovely work with him. We're just blessed that we were able to kind of be in as I said, you know, be there like in an era that Mr. Bachchan operates within. He is like, literally the father of the film industry and like, so much respect and love from, from our collective hearts, not just from the team of Brahmastra but as an industry. I feel I don't know any artist who has his kind of, like his ability to be so relevant at this at this age. You know, the way he connects with an audience when he's hosting KBC or the fact when he kind of tweets like, I just feel so amazingly connective and so relevant today. Apart from being a cinema legend, he's such a relevant individual and personality.”

Back on the work front, Karan Johar whose last production Brahmastra remains one of the highest-grossing films this year will next be seen returning to direction with the film Alia Bhatt – Ranveer Singh starrer. Titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, the film is slated to release next year.
