The recently released trailer of Gram Chikitsalay Season 2 suggests a larger role for Akansha Ranjan Kapoor’s character, Dr Gargi, as the Prime Video series prepares to continue its story set in rural Jharkhand. As it progressed, her role emerged as a key figure in Dr Prabhat’s journey, often offering perspective and guidance as he navigated life and work in the village. With the release of the Season 2 trailer, it appears that the makers have chosen to further explore her character and place her at the centre of several major developments in the upcoming season.
The first season of the show, which revolved around the challenges of healthcare delivery in the fictional village of Bhathkandi, primarily followed the journey of Dr Prabhat, played by Amol Parashar. Among the supporting characters introduced in the series was Dr Gargi, portrayed by Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. Though her screen time was limited, the character played an important role in the narrative as a local doctor familiar with the realities and challenges of working within the existing system.
The new season is expected to delve deeper into Dr Gargi’s personal and professional challenges, with the trailer hinting at increased responsibilities and more complex situations. Her storyline appears set to run parallel to the larger themes of healthcare, community dynamics, and personal choices that shaped the first season.

Directed by Rahul Pandey and created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Arunabh Kumar, Gram Chikitsalay is produced by TVF. The series also stars Anandeshwar Dwivedi, and Vinay Pathak in key roles.
The show follows Dr Prabhat, a young and idealistic doctor who takes charge of a neglected Primary Health Centre in a North Indian village. As he attempts to bring change to the community, he gradually realizes that his own transformation is just as important as the reforms he hopes to introduce.
With Season 2 set to expand its character arcs and narrative scope, viewers can expect Dr Gargi to play a more significant role in the next chapter of Gram Chikitsalay.
