The award season has begun with Golden Globes 2020! The nominations for the 77th Golden Globes were announced on Monday, December 9, 2019, with Netflix taking the lead with 17 nods overall with six nods for the film Marriage Story starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson and five nods to The Irishman starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Joaquin Phoenix took home Best Actor award for his performance in Joker whereas Renée Zellweger won Best Actress for Judy.
The Golden Globes 2020 event took place on Sunday night at Beverly Hills, California with the host, Ricky Gervais.
