Renowned choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan has opened up about her experience of working in the South Indian film industry, highlighting its impact on her work ethic and discipline. Recalling her days as a choreographer in the 1990s, Farah Khan shared valuable insights during a conversation with comedians Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa on their podcast LOL.

"After my debut with Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, I worked on numerous projects down south, collaborating with prominent directors like Mani Ratnam and Priyadarshan. They are very fast. Their style is so fast, and they don’t waste any time. They will quickly set the frame, the actors are also punctual and will come at 5 am for the shoot," Farah Khan explained.

She further elaborated, "Then I worked a lot with Mani Ratnam sir. I did Dil Se and before that Iruvar and Alai Payuthey, which is the south version of Saathiya. They have different logic and working style. With us (Bollywood), everything is leisurely, but there it is like an army is working."

Farah Khan also expressed her gratitude to Telugu star Nagarjuna for recognizing her talent and playing a pivotal role in her career growth. "Telugu songs maine bohot kiye hai Nagarjuna ke saath. Actually, Nagarjuna is the first person jisne meri price thodi badha di thi. Tab main per song 10k or 15K I was taking. (I have done many songs with Nagarjuna. Actually, Nagarjuna was the first person who increased my fees. At that time per song, I must have charged around 10K or 15k). Must have been 1994-1995," she shared.
