Earlier we had reported that Anil Kapoor is all set to work with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra in his upcoming production Fanney Khan. The film that is inspired from the Dutch film Everybody’s Famous, will see the evergreen actor will be seen alongside 90s diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after years.
Talking about the film and also excited about acting with Aishwarya, Anil in his usual enthusiastic demeanor spoke about Fanney Khan. He said, “Fanney Khan is a very exciting journey for me for multiple reasons! To begin with, let’s talk about the amazing people that make this project so exciting – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan! The last time I worked with Aishwarya was in 2000. It’s hard to believe it’s been 17 years since Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai and even longer since Taal. And yet, I remember those times very fondly and have always admired Aishwarya’s craft. It will be very interesting to work with her again after so long.”
He also spoke about his debut collaboration with Prernaa Arora saying, “This is my first project with KriArj Entertainment and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be working with such creative minds. The folks at KriArj have their fingers on the pulse of the audience like nobody else does. They’re talking about all the right things in the best of ways and literally everything they touch turns to gold. The kind of cinema that KriArj makes is exemplary of the fact that one doesn’t have to make a big movie to make a movie big.”
He went on to add, “The fact that T-Series is partnering with us on Fanney Khan should immediately tell you that it’s going to have some fantastic, and maybe even iconic music. For a film that revolves around the life of an aspiring musician, this partnership is very significant and powerful. Then there’s the gold mine of expertise that comes from the film’s association with ROMP Pictures. ROMP [Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Production] has such a rich legacy of meaningful and powerful cinema. All ROMP productions have an innate sense of honesty, vulnerability and rawness that audiences can really relate to, and I know that the same ethos will reflect in Fanney as well.”
Describing his own character in the film, Anil Kapoor said, “Perhaps the most fun and gratifying part of Fanney has been the character development of its protagonist. Fanney Khan is a character that brings out and celebrates the extraordinary in the ordinary. With its loveably flawed characters & its bizarre twists & turns, Fanney Khan has got all the makings of a wholesome family ‘dramedy’”.
