Aditya Dhar has been trending ever since Dhurandhar released last December. The filmmaker has acquired more fame in recent times ever since its sequel Dhurandhar The Revenge hit the theatres. The film is on its way to break the record of its predecessor and emerge as the highest grossing Hindi film of all time.
But beyond giving such monumental hits, Dhar has also managed to super impress actor Salim Siddiqui, who played the memorable character of Atif Ahmed in Dhurandhar The Revenge, with his way of working and conducting himself.
Speaking about Dhar in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Siddiqui said, “He is a director who has taken Indian cinema to another level. He has set a new benchmark and given a new identity. People from all over the world are asking which film is this and who has directed it. I am sure from all across the world, the biggest of the directors like Christopher Nolan or anyone from their industry would know who Aditya Dhar is today or they must be asking (about him). And he deserves it. I am lucky to have worked with some of India’s finest directors and Aditya is one of them.”
He added, “I really want to work with him more whenever he starts (his new project). Mujhe bada chaska lag gaya hai unka (I am addicted to working with him). He is so open and receptive to ideas and how to approach. He gives you freedom as an actor. That brings out the best from an actor.”
Coming to how he found Dhar when they were not shooting, Siddiqui said, “He is a very humble person. He is one of the nicest persons I have met till now. He is a thorough gentleman. I am not saying this because he is my director. If you meet him, you will also say, ‘Yaar, itna achha banda kaise ho sakta hai?’. On the first day, he came and said, ‘Hi, I am Aditya, I am the director’. He is such a big director. I knew him from Uri. But he introduced himself.”
Sharing a quality of the filmmaker that always amazes him, Siddiqui said, “You will always find him with a smile. Whenever I have met him, he is there with a smile. He is so chilled out that I have never seen him in tension. Even if you search his pictures on the internet, you will find him smiling in them.”
