EXCLUSIVE: Urvashi Dholakia speaks on her return as Ichhadaari Naagin from Naagin 6

Fans of the popular Colors show Naagin would be aware that the series on Ichhadaari Naagin has entered its sixth season. While the show was launched earlier this year, a recent twist has been introduced. The recent season had Tejasswi Prakash romancing Simmba Nagpal and fighting the world against an unknown pandemic with the help of her sister played by Mahek Chahal. And this plot has suddenly taken a turn with Mahek turning against her own sister and the re-entry of Urvashi Dholakia.

Viewers of the show would be aware that Urvashi Dholakia played the role of a stylish businesswoman at the start of the show but soon made her exit after Simmba and Tejasswi aka Rishabh and Pratha tied the knot. Now she returns in the powerful role of a Naagin as well as Mahek and Pratha’s aunt. Speaking about the sudden change of her role to Bollywood Hungama, Urvashi stated, “I've been trying to explain this to a lot of people that the course of the characters in television keeps changing. It doesn't ever stick to one. It could start with something else, and then the track would go somewhere else. That's what television is all about.” Adding further about her character, Urvashi said, “In the crux of the matter, it's always been a grey shade. It is not a positive character. Initially, it was shown as a positive character, now, it’s not! Aage chalke kya hoga, I don't know.”

Needless to say, her re-entry was as dramatic as ever, in complete Komolika style. Last week, viewers would be aware that her recent video of her doing taandav as a Naagin went viral on social media. Addressing the same, the actress added, “It’s not a tandav. People are mistaking it to be one. I basically had to just dance with my sister. And I'm just saying who in the right mind would say no to ‘Main Teri Dushman, Dushman Tu Mera’ - Sridevi song from the epic Naagin film. Please tell me this. I'm going to say hands down I would do anything they asked me to do - tandav karneko bolte ya aur koi bhi dance form karne ko bolte, I would have done it on that.”

Despite the character change and the break in the show, the actress was more than keen on doing the show. And it was not just because of her reunion with Ekta Kapoor. “Well, to be honest, it wasn't inspiring though but it was like, because the show has been a part of television for so long and having seen six seasons, you sometimes tend to think that there should be a season where you would want to be in it. And that's what made me take up Naagin six. When it offered me that, I was like, ‘Absolutely, yes’. So that's how it happened! It's a brand, a very big brand on television and a franchisee by itself. So why not? I mean, to say there is no harm in being a part of such a big family.”
