In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Natasha Bharadwaj opened up about her journey, the audiences' reaction to Ishq Next Door, Mumbai Diaries Season 2, and much more. Here are excerpts from the interview:
On the mixed response to Ishq Next Door:
"We live in a world where so many shows come out. We make it with a lot of love. And for the people who like it and watch it, great. For the people even who don't, that's absolutely fine. Our mission is to make what we believe in and the parts we choose to do. So all responses are welcome."
On whether she had any insecurities about her co-stars shining more than her:
"We all ended up becoming really good friends, we're still in touch, and we still hang out. There is a lot of love and respect. We were actors on set that would look out for each other. We used to help each other. There was no negativity on the set. It was filled with a lot of positive energy."
On the biggest challenge, she has faced in her career:
"I think every project I do is challenging. Because I want everything to be different from what I have done or create to be very true to the character. So I think just following the director's vision is something I always look forward to doing."
On which project has left the strongest impression on her:
"I think every project I do I involve myself to a point where I am eating, breathing, and living that character. So I involve myself so much in the character that I am completely immersed in the character in the story and the script."
On her experience of working with Nikkhil Advani in Mumbai Diaries:
"There's learning from everything that happens in life. And I think, with Mumbai, diaries, I'm just really glad that I got to work with some really amazing creators, Mr. Nikhil Advani is a magician. He is a brilliant director. And Nikhil Gonsalves also was directing in season one, so Nikhil Advani and Gonsalves were both on set so that was very interesting to, you know, be directed by such great directors and a really beautiful cast where Mohit Raina, Konkana Sharma, and Sandesh Kulkarni; such prolific actors. Working with them, and doing scenes with them is the joy. That's the fun that's the learning that I had over them."
On her thoughts on King and Nick Jonas' ‘Maan Meri Jaan (Afterlife)’:
"Nick Jonas has been such a wonderful musician. The Jonas Brothers have been just so wonderful. All of us just have grown up listening to their music. So I think it was very interesting to see King and Nick Jonas come together. It's a very interesting collaboration. And it's a very beautiful track. And Nick has added his spin to it, which is absolutely lovely."
On her upcoming projects:
"I am really excited about Mumbai Diaries season 2 that we'll be out, hopefully soon."
