Janhvi Kapoor is currently gearing up for her survival drama Mili. The film showcases the journey of a girl who works as a waiter for a popular fast-food franchise and gets trapped in a freezer for over 48 hours.

During an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi opened up about the toxicity encouraged by media and news portals. When asked if she would praise another fellow actor for his or her performance without being bothered of the media headlines the next day, Janhvi said, “I like that it becomes a headline because I think again that encourages an attitude of women building up other women.”

She further elaborated, “It’s so much better because news portals honestly are very obsessed with one negative comment among 10 positive ones and they will make that one negative comment a headline for sure and say ‘This one trolled for this.’ And that encourages negativity and people think ‘If I say something good, it won’t become a headline but something bad may get some attention.”

“It’s like rewarding toxic behavior which news portals do a lot,” she asserted. “They think it’s clickbait which I find very problematic. If I can say 10 good things about someone else and that becomes a headline then that my way of doing social service.” Mili is a remake of the Malayalam film Helen. The film also stars Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa in a pivotal role.

Mili is slated to release on November 4.
