Manoj Bajpayee has earned his place as one of the most versatile and beloved actors in Bollywood today. Known for his ability to transform himself completely for every role he takes on, Bajpayee has won the hearts of audiences and critics alike. The actor, who was last seen on the big screen in 2020, continued to entertain his fans with his projects released on OTT platforms.

Currently, the critically acclaimed actor is busy with the promotions of his upcoming courtroom drama Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. Ahead of the release of the film on OTT, Manoj Bajpayee talked about the digital revolution and how it turned out to be a “boon” for his career. It all happened during an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama. While reflecting on his journey so far, Bajpayee candidly spoke about OTT medium.

The Satya actor asserted, “We never expected that the digital revolution would happen. Nobody knew OTT would come to our rescue and suddenly those films that I was part of, which were not getting released, are now being welcomed. The views are very strong. So it's something that none of us saw coming but it happened. The pandemic stopped the industry but by God's grace, it didn't stop me. I was working non-stop because all of those OTT (platforms) have come and it has really come as a boon to my career.”

According to Manoj Bajpayee, his movie 1971 failed to make an impact as it was one of ten movies released on the same day and people were not aware of its release. However, during the first lockdown, he promoted the film on his Twitter and Instagram handles, resulting in it gaining 60 million views and becoming the first digital blockbuster. Despite this success, Bajpayee finds it hard to believe that it actually happened.

Coming back to Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, it is a Zee Studios and Bhanushali Studios Limited presentation, and directed by Apoorv Singh Karki. It is all set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on May 23, 2023.
