Ayushmann Khurrana is enjoying the success of his recently released medical dramedy Doctor G. Like his previous acclaimed outings, the Anubhuti Kashyap directorial features a unique story. The film released in the theaters on October 14.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ayushmann said that the film is based on true events and goes on to talk about the importance of sex education.

He said, “You know ye film satya ghatnaon par aadharit hai, yeh main bolna chaahta hoon. Aur aisa humne bohot baar dekha hai news main bhi ki doctors ko maar rahe hai, without any reason. I mean they’re just doing their jobs yaar. To voh aapko iss film mein nazar aayega. [You know this film is based on true events, I wanted to put this out. An all of us have seen it a lot of times, even in the news, how doctors are beaten up for no reason. I mean they’re just doing their jobs. So that is also being shown in the film.]

He continued, “And even the last punchline because the guy doesn’t know where to penetrate in the film so, it’s quite funny. I just recently interviewed Dr. Ganatra, the famous gynecologist in Mumbai.”

“So, he was telling me aisa mere saath bohot baar hua hai ki unko pata hi nhi kaha jaana hai. That’s why sex education is so important, humare desh me vo hota nahi hai. So, probably this film will help. [So, he was telling me this has happened to him a lot of times that he did not know what to do. That’s why sex education is so important which is clearly not being taught in our country. So, probably this film will help.]”

Speaking of Doctor G, the film is a medical drama in which he will be seen essaying the role of a gynecologist. The ensemble star cast of the film also includes Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah.
