EXCLUSIVE: Ankit Tiwari recalls Mohit Suri approaching him for ‘Galiyaan’ during Aashiqui 2 success party; narrates untold story of Ek Villain track 2 : Bollywood News

Composer-singer Ankit Tiwari recently shared an interesting anecdote about the creation of the popular track ‘Galiyaan’ for the film Ek Villain in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama. Tiwari revealed that it all began during the success party of Aashiqui 2 when director Mohit Suri approached him with a request to compose a song for his upcoming film. Coincidentally, Mohit was also about to leave for his honeymoon around the same time.

Before starting work on the song, Tiwari discussed the idea with lyricist Manoj Muntashir, who was working on television at that time and also aspired to be a part of the film industry. Tiwari admired Muntashir's writing skills and sought his suggestions for a romantic song. Muntashir shared some of his nazms (poems) and Shayari (poetry) with Tiwari, unaware that the pieces intended for him would become lyrics for the song. Tiwari instantly fell in love with a nazm and hummed it on the piano without much thought before sending it to Mohit, who was about to leave for his honeymoon.

In the absence of updates, Tiwari remained clueless until Mohit's wife, Udita, informed him that his song had become the anthem of their entire honeymoon. She jokingly complained about hearing the song ‘Galiyaan’ all the time during their trip. Curious, Tiwari asked if she liked it, to which Udita responded saying that Mohit loved the song. Subsequently, Tiwari met Mohit and was urged to complete the song.

As the details of the film's character emerged, Tiwari adjusted the composition accordingly, shaping the song to suit the narrative. Tiwari went on to reveal that Manoj had written a “beautiful” stanza for the song. However, it never made it to the final draft. In fact, Ankit was keen to add it in the reprise version of ‘Galiyaan’ in Ek Villain Returns, but the character was “too” dark for it.
