EXCLUSIVE: Anees Bazmee gives an update on the sequel of Welcome : Bollywood News

Anees Bazmee is currently basking in the success of his recently released film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film has taken the box-office by storm and defeated several films that were released after that. Bazmee is also known for delivering hits like Welcome, No Entry, Ready, and Singh Is Kinng among others.

Welcome is among one of the biggest hits of the directors; career and the characters of the film are still very popular, A sequel to the film was made in 2015 titled Welcome Back. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Anees Bazmee gave an update regarding carrying forward the Welcome franchise.

When asked if there will be a third film in the Welcome franchise, Anees said, “Welcome ka sequel, mujhe lagta hai bahut kamal ki film banayi jaa sakti hai. Kyuki woh dono jo characters hai, Majnu aur Uday, woh itne logon ko lovable lage. Abhi meri mulakat hui thi Nanaji se. Nanaji bahut pyaar karte hai. Bahut asaan hai unke saath kaam karna,bahut acche insaan hai, bahut bade actor hai. Unko bas ye lagna chahiye ki haan,saamne waale mehnat kar rahe hai, mujhe bewakooof nahibana rahe.Warna shooting karna bada muhskil kaam hai (A sequel toWlecome would make a great film because the characters, Majnu and Uday, are very lovable.I recently met Nana Patekar. He loves me a lot and it is very easy to work with him. He is a very nice person and a very big actor. He must just feel that the person on the other is hard working and not just fooling around. Otherwise, it becomes difficult to work with him).”

Talking further about Nana Patekar, who essayed the role of Uday Shetty in Welcome, the director said, “Aur woh aise insaan hai, poora surrender bhi karte hai director ko. Unko malum hai ki barabar kar raha hai ,toh kahi koi sawaal nahi hai.Maine teen filmein kar di hai unke saath. Log kehte hai yaar aap Nanaji ke saath, (He is the kind of person who will surrender to the director’s vision. He knows that I am doing the right thing and will not question you. I have done three films with him and people ask me, ‘how?’) But Nanaji is such a brillinat actor and such a nice human being. I have seen very few nice people and Nanaji is one of them. Haan, gussa unko aayega , agar koi unko cheat karega, ya kuch galat kar rahe hai aap. Ferozbhai, jiss din bolenge, film banani hai teesri,toh bahut acchi film banayenge. (Yes, he will get mad if someone cheats him or does something wrong. The day Feroz Nadiadwala asks me to make a sequel to the film, I will do it.)”
