Golmaal 3 is a hit at the minimum and could well be chartering a superhit route for itself. This also means that the combination of Ajay Devgn and
Rohit Shetty has done well at the box office all over again. It is a known fact that Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty bond the best due to their long professional
and personal association from the past. Zameen, Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, Sunday and All The Best, Ajay and Rohit have collaborated on each of
the six films.
Now with Golmaal 3, the ‘jodi’ has come together yet again and though Rohit is expected to have led from the front in the making of this multistarrer,
one wonders whether Ajay also made any special contribution to the film since he is a buddy.
Says Tusshar Kapoor, Ajay’s co-actor in the film, who has been another regular fixture of Golmaal series and also did a special song and dance
appearance in Sunday, “There isn’t any particular contribution by Ajay during the making of Golmaal 3. Ajay allows the director to do his job
and since Rohit himself comes with a good experience behind him now, there wasn’t any need for that either.”
However, it does happen in the making of a film that due to a great personal and professional rapport shared by the key team members, there is bound to be
some exchange of ideas. Also, since Ajay has directed U Me Aur Hum before, has 20 years of acting experience behind him and would be picking up his
second directorial venture soon, it is but obvious that he would share his point of view when a film is being made.
“Of course Ajay was giving suggestions; he did share his inputs just like any other actor. However, he wasn’t extending anything beyond that”, Tusshar
responds quickly, “He was being laidback and chilling out, as were most of us. Yes, Ajay has been a director himself and also quite close to Rohit. If he
would have wanted, he would have had his say. But then that wasn’t required at all since Rohit was anyways so sure about what he was making and working with
That should settle all doubts and speculations for good.
