DHADAK Trailer: 5 Unique features which make Ishaan Khatter – Janhvi Kapoor’s movie DIFFERENT from Sairat

Ishaan Khatter - Janhvi Kapoor’s Dhadak trailer has just dropped and the first reaction after watching it is just WOW. There is already a lot of pressure on Karan Johar and director Shashank Khaitan with regard to Dhadak because it is an adaptation of Sairat, the Marathi blockbuster which has created history. Everything from the songs, the chemistry between the lead cast and the direction has been appreciated by the international audience and it sure is a little bit of a precarious task to adapt a story like this and suit it to the pan Indian milieu but well Dharma Productions has taken up that challenge and by the looks of it, the movie is your typical masala Bollywood fare with some message to take home. One should not judge the film by its trailer but still, here are five unique features about Dhadak which are different than Sairat.

1. Different lead pair

While Sairat introduced Akash Thosar and the magnificent Rinku Rajguru, this one is a big Bollywood debut for Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. At the trailer launch event, Janhvi said that she would never ever be able to touch the original character of Archi and the way Rinku portrayed is beyond fabulous. Ishaan too said that the director Shashank Khaitan made them do a lot of readings and they have treated the movie like a fresh story.

2. Essence of story is same but the treatment is totally different

The story of Dhadak looks similar to Sairat but it has been adapted to the gorgeous backdrop of Udaipur and therefore the challenges faced by the lead pair is to suit the mainstream market.

3. Director Shashank Khaitan's special touches to show romance brew between the couple

Every director has his or her signature style of filmmaking and Shashank Khaitan who has given us the amazing Dulhania series is back with Dhadak. If Nagraj Manjule served us a bitter pill of honour killing wrapped in an iconic love story through Sairat, Khaitan has a totally different approach to handle the same subject. The lead pair in Dhadak expresses love differently from Archi and Parshya in Sairat. The little touches like these make all the difference.

4. Music - Re-imagined

Ajay – Atul have done a great job with Sairat. In Dhadak, Amitabh Bhattacharya has collaborated with the talented duo and the trio has added two extra songs in the movie. We can’t wait to watch the super addictive ‘Zhingat’ track and of course the melodious ‘Yad Lagla’. The other two songs will be a surprise package.

5. The chemistry between the leads holds out a promise of being more intense

Ishaan and Janhvi’s chemistry is much more intense on screen. They look very easy with each other and also have one smouldering kissing scene in the movie.

Overall, Dhadak looks like a total winner from a perspective of commercial cinema and we can’t wait to watch it when it comes to theatres on July 20.
