It was a star-studded affair when many Indian celebrities came under one roof for the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards 2018 that was held on Saturday, April 21. The awards were given to the celebrities who have contributed towards the growth and development of the entertainment industry. Two of the most prestigious awards went to Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor for their stupendous performances in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat.
While Shahid Kapoor won the Best Actor award, Ranveer Singh took home the Best Actor People's Choice Award. It wasn't just the reunion of Padmaavat co-stars, they even shared some light moments with each other. Some of the shutterbugs captured a pretty candid between the two winners as they greeted each other on the awards night. Both of them were all smiles. Ranveer Singh was seen circular shades, printed jacket and a hat whereas Shahid wore all black outfit.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh just completed Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The film stars Alia Bhatt in the lead and is slated to release on February 14, 2019. He is set to begin Rohit Shetty's Simmba starring Sara Ali Khan in the lead. The film is set for December 28, 2018 release.
On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor is busy shooting for Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. It is a social comedy-drama that gives a quirky take on the conspiracy behind exorbitant electricity bills.
