Cirkus: Ranveer Singh calls Deepika Padukone as ‘queen of entertainment and my life’ at ‘Current Laga Re’ launch : Bollywood News

The first song from Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated trailer of Cirkus was unveiled on Thursday, December 8. While Ranveer Singh plays a double role for the first time in the upcoming entertainer, it marks his on-screen reunion with actress-wife Deepika Padukone as she makes her cameo. The first song of the film ‘Current Laga Re’ was unveiled in the presence of both actors in Mumbai.

At the song launch on Thursday, Ranveer said, “She is the queen of entertainment. She has 15 years of glorious career and has given such special films & characters. She is the queen of entertainment and the queen of my life. She has a very endearing side to her, which I get to see in real life.”

Ranveer also showed his excitement towards Deepika teaming up again with Rohit in Singham Again. He said, “Deepika’s best performance for me is Meenaamma from Chennai Express. She has done so many great films, but this one is just special. I can't wait for Rohit Shetty & Deepika to team up on a feature film.”

Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in 2018 after dating for six years. The actors have previously worked together in Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and 83.

Cirkus is based on The Comedy of Errors, which inspired the Gulzar cult comedy, Angoor and is set in the 1960s’. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johny Lever, Siddharth Jadhav, Tiku Talsania, Sanjay Mishra, Vijay Patkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Brijendra Kala among others. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Cirkus is set to release theatrically this Christmas on December 23, 2022.
