Chhota Bheem And The Curse Of Damyaan trailer launch: “Kids love my films like Main Hoon Na, Happy New Year; their favourite actors are Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff” – Farah Khan

en Bollywood News Chhota Bheem And The Curse Of Damyaan trailer launch: “Kids love my films like Main Hoon Na, Happy New Year; their favourite actors are Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff” – Farah Khan

The trailer of Chhota Bheem And The Curse Of Damyaan was launched by the film’s team at a multiplex in Mumbai. Farah Khan was the chief guest, and she was at her entertaining best as she talked about how her kids discovered the Chhota Bheem series and they even gave her detailed information about the characters before she came to the event. She danced with the child actors and at one point, she blasted the marketing guys in her style, and it led to a lot of laughs. Later, she reacted to Minister Anurag Thakur’s comments on kid films in India.

Farah Khan remarked, “All the films I have made until now were kid friendly. Kids love those films more than anything else. They don’t specifically need to be categorized as ‘children’s films’. Fir hum mudde waali filmein banana shuru kar dete hai. But children like (a film like) Happy New Year (2014). They like to watch Main Hoon Na (2004) or movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). As children, we also used to watch Manmohan Desai movies. We wanted entertainment as kids. We didn’t want a message being told to us. Woh toh humko school mein mil hi raha hai. The challenge is to make entertaining films that also children can watch.”

Farah added, “I would tell Mr Thakur that we should make films that kids also want to see. Then it’ll do well. We make such films quite simplistic thinking ‘baccho ko samaj mein nahin aayegi’. Children understand everything.”

Later, a journalist began by asking, “Your films are based on kids.” Farah cut him and said, “Kuch bhi! See, rumours start like this! Maine bola ‘meri film bacchon par based hoti hai’? I said that my films are ‘U’ rated and are kid-friendly films. You’ll not see any kind of adult content in it or bad language. There’s humour, dancing, singing. Kids like my movies.”

She then said, “We have family films and children enjoy watching them. If you ask any child, they’ll say that their favourite actor is Shah Rukh Khan or Hrithik Roshan or even Tiger Shroff. So, they like watching those films. So as a ‘children’s film’, this (Chhota Bheem And The Curse Of Damyaan) is an exception. However, we again reiterate that this is not just a children’s film. The parents should also go and see it. Also, it’s a family film.”

She also added that “Karan Johar and Yash Raj Films make family movies. Rajshri is still making family films.”

Chhota Bheem And The Curse Of Damyaan releases in cinemas on May 31.
