Aside from her global assignments, from movies to lifestyle, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is big on supporting the representation of Indian films on the international platform. She has always come out in support of actors, filmmakers, and movies on various platforms in the past. On Tuesday, the actor, producer, and entrepreneur hosted a special screening for India's Oscar hopeful, SS Rajamouli's RRR in Los Angeles wherein she also congratulated them on their win at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.

Readers would be aware that the dance track ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR won the Best Original Song at Golden Globe Awards 2022. The song emerged victiorious amidst the likes of singers Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. The actress took to Instagram to express her support to team RRR, “Least I can do to contribute to this incredible Indian film’s journey. Good luck and congratulations RRR, SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Prem Rakshith (choreographer), Kala Bhairava (singer), Chandrabose (lyricist)..." Responding to it, Rajamouli expressed his gratitude towards the actress saying, “You are a global superwoman! Touched by your heart-warming words and intro. Thank you Priyanka for hosting our show and your kind wishes :)”.

Talking about RRR, after much deliberation, the film has been chosen to be nominated in the Oscars in the same category. While we are awaiting the Oscar nominations and winners, the film has already won many international accolades, besides the Golden Globe Awards. The film features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles along with Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt, Alison Doody, among others playing pivotal roles in the film. It released in India in multiple languages in March 2022.

On the other hand, coming to Priyanka Chopra, the actress was recently in India to promote her haircare brand Anomaly. As for her commitments in the entertainment industry, she has the American rom-com Love Again, the Amazon Prime sci-fi series Citadel, as well as the multi-starrer female centric film Jee Le Zaraa in the pipeline for this year.
