Varun Dhawan has always been in fighting shape for his films like Student of the Year, Main Tera Hero and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. But for his role in Badlapur, Varun had stopped working out to get into the character's shape. However, for his soon to release film ABCD 2, the actor was required to acquire a ripped dancer like physique.

For this Varun Dhawan happily resumed his workout sessions, only this time with a more intense routine. Comments a source close to the film, "Varun started an intense workout for about 2-3 months which helped to prepare for the role and stay mentally relaxed. Since Varun had to acquire a chiseled look he worked out under the guidance for Prashant Sawant his trainer."

Thanks to his grueling sessions Varun Dhawan lost about six kgs and this is the best shape he has even been in.
