BTS unveils ethereal concept photos ahead of Map Of The Soul: 7 release

The concept photos for BTS' new album are here and we are extremely delighted. The first set of photographs from 'Map Of The Soul: 7' clearly depicts the new era is here and it's nothing like we've seen before.

BTS drops ethereal concept photos ahead of Map Of The Soul: 7 release

The phase 3 leading up to the album showcases Version 1 of the concept photos. The members - RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook - are dressed in all-white attire in a dark room while dropping white feathers. Does the black whole vs their white costumes depict two dimensions - pure vs evil? Does the black hole mean they fall into the hole and become fallen angels?

There's a great call back while seeing the feathers with Jungkook in the new era. He was seen in a similar way in BTS' 'Young Forever' Epilogue that released in the year 2016. What does it mean?

In the year, 2016 itself, BTS released 'Wings' second short film which was Jimin's music video for 'Lie'. It also had him surrounded by feathers. This is also a beautiful ode to their past self.

We've also seen them during a pillow fight scene surrounded by feathers in their music video 'Run'.

It's melancholic to see the softer concept featuring BTS at an abandoned place which is nostalgia-filled and brings a lot of memories from the past. The black hole could also mean they are trying to not get enveloped into their shadows. No matter how many theories are made, hopefully, we will get closer to the meaning when more concept photos are released in the coming weeks.

BTS will make their much-awaited comeback on February 21, 2020, with 'Map Of The Soul: 7'. They already released two comeback trailers - 'Interlude: Shadow' ft. Suga and 'Outro: Ego' featuring J-Hope. Their first single 'Black Swan' was released through an art film performed by MN Dance Academy followed by a modern contemporary performance by the septet on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
