Bollywood ‘Baadshah’ Shah Rukh Khan gets the Opus treatment

Today is a day that will get registered in the pages of history. The king of Bollywood signed the signature page of the Number 1 copy of the Shah Rukh Opus, titled: King Khan - The Official Opus of Shah Rukh Khan. Opus Media Group announced an Opus dedicated to this shining star making him the only actor in the world to get this honour. The Opus will narrate the saga of Shah Rukh Khan through his rare pictures and extracts from his personal diary.

With the announcement of this Opus, Shah Rukh joins the league of iconic names in the Opus Collection, including Sachin Tendulkar, Michael Jackson, Manchester United FC, Formula 1 and Ferrari. SRK is only the second Indian to have this luxury, large-format work dedicated to him.

The Opus will bring SRK's fans closer to his story than ever before, revealing the incredible passion, intellectual drive, constant ambition and charming personality of this living legend in Bollywood. Destined to be a glorious, cinematic and definitive celebration of SRK and to be presented in true Opus fashion, the lavish leather-bound publication will weigh an incredible 37 kilos (82lb), running up to 800 pages and consisting of exclusive, newly commissioned content that will make this work a must-have for every fan.

A very intimate project for Mr. Khan, the Opus will include a host of previously unpublished images from the actor's personal collection and hundreds from worldwide archives, plus first-hand interviews with his celebrity friends, co-stars and family. The Opus will also include features from Mr. Khan's previous work that have never been seen in public and will be revealed for the very first time in the giant publication.

The Opus will be semi-autobiographical as Shah Rukh will contribute much of the exclusive content himself, including fascinating extracts from his personal diary that he has kept for over 20 years. Furthermore, a leading international writer/broadcaster (to be announced next year) will exclusively interview Shah Rukh as he discusses his innermost thoughts, his remarkable achievements, his future plans and his celebrated career to date.

Structured around 13 themed chapters, the Opus's editorial content will include a detailed filmography plus a light-hearted cinematic intermission in which fans and newcomers to King Khan can gain an insight into his on and off screen persona and the colour and flavour of Bollywood. Carefully crafted features and interviews by established international writers from India, UK, US, Germany and further afield will take an in-depth look at Mr. Khan's 'real' and 'reel' life, exploring the actor's immense contribution, commercial impact and the legacy of his work in the Hindi film industry as it moves forward in the digital age.

Each marquee edition of the Opus will be personally signed by Mr. Khan and presented as a strictly limited edition worldwide. Opus will also produce an abridged 400-page edition which will include selected content from the premium edition at an accessible price.
