Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury's portrayal of Chondon Chatterjee, Alia Bhatt’s father in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, resonated deeply with audiences. He recently won the Best Supporting Actor award at the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024. At the glittering event held in Mumbai on March 9, Chowdhury and Bobby Deol had an endearing interaction.
In a video shared online, Bobby Deol effusively praised Tota Roy Chowdhury's contribution to the film. He was heard saying, “I am happy for you.” In response, Chowdhury's gratitude shone through his smile as they shared a hug.

In a recent interview, Tota expressed his admiration for Karan as a filmmaker and also appreciated his strength of being himself despite all the negativity he has experienced. “I will tell you what the reality is. He is one of the kindest and nicest people I have ever met. He is such a lovely human being,” Tota Roy was quoted saying by Hindustan Times.
Helmed by Karan Johar, the film also stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Churni Ganguly among others. It was released in July 2023 in theatres.
