Shahid Kapoor is all set to enter the gritty action space with Bloody Daddy. The trailer launch of the action entertainer took place today in Mumbai where the actor spoke highly of the film’s director, Ali Abbas Zafar.

Shahid Kapoor started by saying, “Maine apne aap ko Ali ki godi mein daal diya tha. I told him, ‘Tu action bade saalon se kar raha hai. All your actors look damn hot while doing action. Mujh ko bhi accha dikhwa dena. The whole credit goes to Ali. He knows how to build action that is cinematic and gritty. Its not like an amusement park ki log udd rahe hai. Of course, that also works. There’s space for that. But what excites me is when the action feels very raw and the way it’s shot, you feel like you’re in the middle of it. That’s what Ali also wanted to do. Also its emotionally driven.”

Earlier, Shahid Kapoor had said, “We planned Bloody Daddy three years ago, when Covid had started. It was a time when it was very difficult to make films of a certain size and scale. Ali has a great production team. We were able to shoot this film in one go. We faced many challenges. The best part is none of that shows and hence it’s a very cherished film. Ali is a fantastic filmmaker. He understands this genre better than I do. It’s a privilege to have him design my first actioner.”

Bloody Daddy will release on June 9 directly on Jio Cinema.
