South Korean female group BLACKPINK has set a new record on YouTube. On November 12 at approximately 11:10 a.m. KST, BLACKPINK’s music video for How You Like That surpassed 1 billion views, making it the fastest K-pop girl group music video ever to reach the milestone.

The song was originally released on June 26, 2020 at 6 p.m. KST, meaning that it took the video just over one year, four months, 16 days, and 17 hours to hit the 1 billion mark.

BLACKPINK also held the previous record for the fastest K-pop girl group music video to surpass 1 billion views with ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, which took one year, four months, and 27 days to reach the milestone.

‘How You Like That’ is now BLACKPINK’s fifth music video to surpass 1 billion views, following ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, ‘Kill This Love’, ‘BOOMBAYAH’, and ‘As If It’s Your Last’.

On the work front, BLACKPINK released a Japanese version of The Album on August 3, 2021. The release included Japanese versions for four out of the eight tracks—‘How You Like That,’ ‘Pretty Savage,’ ‘Lovesick Girls,’ and ‘You Never Know’ and came in 12 different physical editions.

BLACKPINK members are busy working on their solo releases as well. Jisoo is currently waiting for the release of her debut k-drama Snowdrop co-starring Jung Hae In which is set for premiere on December 18, 2021.
