Ayushmann Khurrana, who has been one of the most successful actors in Hindi cinema in recent years, is not averse to the idea of making his debut in South Indian films. In an interview with News18 Showsha, Khurrana said that he has been offered a few scripts from the South but is yet to find something that excites him enough.
"There have been conversations, but it should also excite me at the same time at the script level," he said. "If there's something exciting and people are heavily invested in it, then I'll go for it for sure."
Khurrana also expressed his admiration for two of the biggest names in South Indian cinema, director Atlee and actor Fahadh Faasil. "I would love to collaborate with Atlee or Fahadh Faasil," he said. "I know they're poles apart (in terms of their sensibilities). But my filmography is also the same… Dream Girl and Andhadhun belong to two ends of the spectrum."
Khurrana also spoke about his love for Malayalam cinema, saying that he is a big fan of the industry's simplicity. "I love Malayalam cinema and its simplicity," he said. "Their films are so real, it's almost like there's no urgency. When you watch them, you become one with the environment in the film, you become a part of it. That's very interesting."
Coming to the professional front, Khurrana is currently seen in Dream Girl 2, which also stars Ananya Panday.
