Actress Ayesha Khan, who rose to widespread attention with the viral Shararat track from blockbuster Dhurandhar, has shared an emotional and unsettling glimpse into the darker side of life in the public eye. In a candid conversation at a recent Mojo Story event, Khan revealed that her experiences extend far beyond online trolling, including an attempted rape in her life.

The Bigg Boss 17 fame star said the constant sexualisation she faces online has profound emotional consequences. “I am almost everyday sexualized for my body on Instagram,” she said, discussing how even wearing a “normal top” or a skirt can prompt inappropriate commentary. “If I have to think before wearing something,  it’s a really sad space to be in,” Khan added.

What makes her account particularly harrowing is her admission of having faced an attempted rape. “I’ve been attempted to rape in my life and there are days, there are times when it just triggers you,” she said, visibly affected. Khan explained that even though the physical attempt happened in the past, reminders,  including threatening messages, continue to shake her.

She also spoke about the frightening closeness of harassment. In one incident on a film set, she opened her Instagram to find disturbing voice notes from someone she later realised was a spot boy from the production. “I realised it was one of the spot boys,” she said, recalling how the incident made her father intervene and production take action.

Her statements have reignited debate around on-set safety and online harassment, bringing attention to the gaps that still exist in protecting women within the industry.
