Global star Priyanka Chopra recently opened up about one of the most intimate moments of her life , her Roka ceremony with husband Nick Jonas , sharing heartfelt details that reveal the depth of their bond.
Speaking on The Mythical Kitchen Podcast, Priyanka reflected on the traditional Indian pre-wedding ritual that formally marked the beginning of their journey together. The ceremony, held at her Mumbai home, was arranged by her mother, Madhu Chopra, and included sacred Hindu rituals performed by priests around a havan kund.
Describing the emotional weight of the moment, Priyanka shared that walking into the ceremony felt like entering “a new life.” While engagements are often remembered for the exchange of rings, for her, the most powerful memory was something far more personal — holding Nick’s hand after the rituals and realizing the significance of the choice they were making.
She revealed that after the ceremony, Nick turned to her and said, “I feel like we are on our third or fourth lifetime.” Referring to the Indian belief in reincarnation and the tradition of seven lifetimes in marriage vows, he told her their connection felt familiar, “like home,” and expressed his desire to continue building a life filled with shared experiences.
Priyanka and Nick tied the knot in December 2018 in a grand wedding celebration that beautifully blended Indian and Western traditions. Today, the couple are parents to their daughter, Malti Marie Jonas, and continue to balance global careers with family life.
Through her candid recollection, Priyanka offered a glimpse into a deeply spiritual and emotional milestone , one that went beyond ceremony and tradition, and instead centered on connection, destiny, and choosing each other.
