The first complete official trailer for James Cameron directorial Avatar: The Way of Water, the follow-up to the all-time highest-grossing movie, has finally been released. The story of the sequel is set ten years after the events of the first movie when The Way of Water.

The journey of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children) is followed, along with the trouble that accompanies them, the lengths they go to keep one another safe, the fights they wage to survive, and the tragedies they experience as they struggle to defend their home on Pandora.

The teaser, which is full of breathtaking images and brand-new monsters, also pays homage to the first film with the iconic Na'vi statement, “I see you.” The trailer of the sequel also captures the glimpse of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Edie Falco, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Oona Chaplin, and Jermaine Clement, among others.

The trailer is packed with breathtaking images of the ocean, which also serves to highlight the cast's incredible breath-holding prowess. Reportedly, the actors trained with experts to be able to record lengthy takes of sequences underwater without having to surface for oxygen. Saldana said, as per a report by The Hollywood Reporter, that her personal best for holding her breath underwater was five minutes in an interview from earlier this year.

In addition to directing ‘,Avatar: The Way of Water’, Cameron is also writing, producing, and editing the film. Producers are Peter M. Tobyansen and Jon Landau. Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno all contributed to the writing of the story. The upcoming film is slated to release worldwide on December 16 this year.

Interestingly, the first trailer debuted back in May this year. It managed to garner 148.6 million views.
