“At a loss for words”- Irrfan Khan’s Hindi Medium co-star Saba Qamar mourns his death

Today morning, actor Irrfan Khan succumbed to cancer after a two-year-long battle. His demise is mourned by his dear ones, friends, millions of fans in India and beyond, and by his colleagues of the film industry. Since morning, almost everyone including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal and Ayushmann Khurrana has conveyed their condolence over the loss.

Irrfan's Hindi Medium co-star and Pakistani actor Saba Qamar took to Twitter, stating she was 'deeply disturbed'. "Deeply disturbed to hear about the passing of Irrfan Khan. It feels like yesterday coming back from the sets of Hindi Medium. You taught me a lot as an actor and a mentor. Such a brilliant actor gone too soon. I'm at a loss for words. RIP Raj. Yours Only, Meeta," she wrote.

Irrfan and Saba's Hindi Medium, released in 2017, was a thorough entertainer along with a strong message, and was widely loved by the audience. Its sequel Angrezi Medium, which is also Irrfan's last released film, hit the theatres just a few days before theatres had to be shut due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The film had a very brief run in the cinemas and was later released on an OTT platform.
