There have been stories of star struck fans making beelines in the most adverse of circumstances to find a way into theaters. However, it was quite a rare scenario when Asin herself wanted to get together and have fun with her friends. Recently when Asin was in London, she was keen on watching the musical show ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ and had booked it for her friend, cousin and herself.
Informs the friend of Asin who was her companion along with her cousin during this ‘adventure’ of hers, “Knowing Asin, I knew that she would be ‘bindaas’. However I was a little taken aback when instead of rescheduling her visit due to rains, she insisted on making it to the show even when there was an issue with getting transport and the weather too turned out to be very unkind.”
Though Asin had a personal car at her disposal right through the shoot, a miscommunication resulted in the driver going back early due to which the actress had to find an alternate means. Since it was raining cats and dogs that evening, they couldn’t find a cab at the last minute. Not to give up so soon, Asin decided to take public transport instead.
“I asked Asin if she wasn’t worried about standing in a public place in the rain and waiting for the bus but she said that she was cool with it”, the friend continues, “More than her I guess I was more worried since I suspected that she would be mobbed by those who have seen her work on screen. However she was totally cool and unfazed.”
As expected, within a few minutes of hitting the road she was recognized by Indians. Fortunately there wasn’t much trouble though as they were happy getting her autographs and taking photographs. But before things could warm up further, Asin was able to jump into a bus and reach the venue.
“It wasn’t the end of it all though as a walk from the bus to the theatre doors meant getting further drenched, something that Asin enjoyed more than complaining,” adds the source.
