Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma recently discussed her choice to reduce the number of films she takes on in order to prioritize her daughter Vamika. During a conversation, the actress shared that she believed her daughter required her presence and undivided attention, prompting her to prioritize quality time with Vamika over a packed work schedule.

While attending a Puma event held in Bengaluru, Anushka said, “I know my daughter is at this age that she needs a lot more of my time. Virat is a great father. He is very involved as a parent. But she is at that age, we have also seen that, she just needs me more. We recognise that. So, I have taken those steps.” Anushka elaborated that although she finds joy in acting, she no longer wishes to take on numerous film projects like she used to in the past. “I want to do one film a year, enjoy the process of acting which is what I like and balance my life out like the way I am, give time to family,” said the actress.

Anushka expressed that even Virat Kohli makes sure to dedicate time for their family. She emphasized that she has no desire to prove anything to anyone, be it as an actor, public figure, or mother. Her main focus is to engage in activities that bring her happiness and align with her own sense of what feels right. She stated, “I do things which feel right to me and it I don’t look for validation outside of myself anymore. And motherhood has given me that. Because you have to trust yourself so much as a parent , as a mother, because you're taking decisions for someone who is so small and frankly incapable in a lot of ways. So you end up becoming very gutsy and you start trusting yourself a lot more.”

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in Italy on December 11, 2017. They were blessed with a baby girl, Vamika in January 2021.

On the work front, Anushka Sharma surprised her fans with cameo in Qala. The actress is now gearing up for the release of Chakda Xpress. The film will see her play the lead role of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. It will release on Netflix in 2023. Backed by her brother Karnesh Sharma's production house Clean Slate Filmz, the film also stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee and Babil Khan.
