Veteran actor Anupam Kher, gearing up for his upcoming film Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, recently celebrated 40 years in the Hindi film industry. At the film's trailer launch, Kher reminisced about his remarkable journey, having starred in nearly 540 films.
Despite his extensive filmography, Kher stated that he opt for a fresh approach to every project. "This is my 532nd film, yet I believe in working like a newcomer," he stated. "Being called a 'veteran' scares me. It's the industry's way of classifying you, but I prefer a different perspective. While I bring experience and passion, I remember running fast towards nothing and now walking slowly towards something."
Reflecting on his career's highs and lows, the 68-year-old actor shared his philosophy: "Without experiencing life's bitterness, true happiness is elusive. A journey without obstacles wouldn't be a journey at all. I built my castle with the stones thrown at me. Difficulties and ups and downs make life meaningful and enjoyable. A smooth path wouldn't be as exciting."
Kher's journey embodies resilience and optimism. "I welcome challenges," he declared. "My failures and bad experiences define me, but I don't dwell on them. There's so much to look forward to. Coming to this city with Rs 37 in 1981 and now discussing my 540th film - what more could I ask for? I'm truly grateful."
Coming back to Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, it is slated to release on February 16. The forthcoming film will mark the acting debut of popular singer Guru Randhawa. Meanwhile, Saiee Manjrekar will be seen playing the female lead.
Speaking of the professional front, besides Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, Kher's upcoming projects include Emergency and Signature.
