Anup Jalota showers praise on Anupam Kher; says ‘Aapki Uunchai hi aapke jeevan ka Saaransh hai’

Along with Anup Jalota, ghazal singer Talat Aziz also showered his appreciation for Anupam Kher by singing a song in his honour during a recent get-together.

Anupam Kher has had an amazing 2022 with three box office successes to his name, The Kashmir Files, Karthikeya 2 and Uunchai. While many applauded his prowess on the big screen and the successful run of his films at the box office this year, joining that list is now renowned singer Anup Jalota. Recently, Jalota held an intimate gathering at his residence to celebrate him being honoured at the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards. During the get-together, renowned ghazal singer Talat Aziz was also present and he shared the stage with Kher and sang the song ‘Aaaina Mujhse Meri Pehli Si Soorat Maange’ from Kher’s film Daddy as a tribute of sorts.

Post that, even Anup Jalota raved about Kher and his work over the years, as he said, "Anupamji recently invited me for the grand premiere of his latest release Uunchai. During our conversation, he informed me that he started his acting journey with Rajshri Productions’ Saaransh and he would be happy to have me at the premiere of Uunchai. Since I am a huge fan of Saaransh, I had sent him a one-line message - “Aapki Uunchai hi aapke jeevan ka Saaransh hai”. I strongly feel that Saaransh is Anupamji’s best work so far and it’s such a good film that you can start watching it from any point but you will definitely watch it till the end."

Jalota went on to sing praises of Kher's prowess as an actor and how he has the innate ability to become the character himself. An overwhelmed Kher replied by saying that sharing stage and humming a few lines with stalwarts like Aziz and Jalota was nothing short of a Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for him.

They were also accompanied by some more personalities from the Indian music industry which includes Madhushree, Shailendra Singh, Dr. Soma Ghosh, Jaspinder Narula, Sanjay Tandon, Usha Timothy, Vivek Prakash, Robvy Badal, Shubhankar Ghosh, Nitin Mukesh and Sameer Date, amongst others. Jalota also added that post getting the Padma Shri for his music, this award was for his natak, acting and producing films.

As for Anupam Kher, he is all set to carry on the momentum from 2022 to next year with some interesting projects in the pipeline, including Emergency, Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, Kaagaz 2 and a reunion with filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, amongst many other projects.
