Akshay Oberoi calls it an ‘honor’ to play an Airforce officer in Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter : Bollywood News

For the first time ever, audiences will get to witness the chemistry of Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan together on the big screen in their forthcoming film Fighter. The film will also feature actor Akshay Oberoi in the pivotal role of an Airforce fighter. Recently, the actor was seen speaking about his character in this action entertainer wherein he also expressed pride in portraying this role and considered it a huge honor for him.

Talking about his role in the forthcoming film Fighter, Akshay Oberoi said, “It's an honor to be playing the part of someone who has served the nation. My character is a tribute to all those real-life heroes who have fought for their country. As actors, we might imitate their actions, but the grit and courage that they would have shown in real-life situations are unfathomable. All thanks to the director Siddharth and Mamta Anand for picking me for the part."

Last month Akshay Oberoi took to Instagram, to announce his association with the film wherein he was seen posing with filmmaker Siddharth Anand. The production Marflix Pictures, which is backing the film, posted about the announcement on their official social media page where they welcomed Oberoi along with Karan Singh Grover, who is currently enjoying his new parenthood phase with wife Bipasha Basu.

Meanwhile, talking about Fighter, the film is expected to feature Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as Indian Air Force pilots along with Anil Kapoor also playing an integral role. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is said to be shot across the world including an extensive schedule in Assam and will pay tribute to the sacrifice of the country’s armed forces. It is slated for release on January 25, 2024.
