From Ajay Devgn to Shahid Kapoor to Madhuri Dixit – 2022 will witness several Bollywood biggies make OTT debut

The boom of digital streaming platforms has given several actors from different walks of life, who probably never got a chance to make their debut with big banner names in Bollywood, an opportunity of a lifetime to hop into the world of cinema. Some big names dived into OTT space quite early on including Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui with Sacred Games, while many rose to fame including Arjun Mathur, Shanshank Arora, Radhika Apte, Mithila Palkar and many more. Not only do we get to see a variety of films on a single platform, directors, and actors continuously experiment with the controversial plots, scripts, and characters that could have been opposed if they were to be shown on a big screen.

Currently, OTT is not only a space for fresh actors who are trying to thrive in the industry but also for Bollywood Biggies as they are interested in exploring this side of space as they are too bored to play conventional roles with extreme restrictions. Here is the list of Bollywood celebrities who are all set to debut on the OTT Platform in 2022.

AJAY DEVGN

Bollywood’s supercop Singham is all set to conquer digital space with the release of Rudra – The Edge of Darkness on Disney+Hotstar this year. Devgan is playing a cop in the series and is accompanied by actress Esha Deol, who plays a very crucial role in the series. The series is Hindi remake of British series Luther starring Idris Elba and Ruth Wilson.

SHAHID KAPOOR

After playing the role of Kabir Singh in the mega-blockbuster Arjun Reddy remake, Shahid Kapoor wants to explore the OTT world. He be marking his debut with an untitled project for now, which is being directed by Raj and DK, who have given us two super successful seasons of The Family Man which was released on Amazon Prime. The series will star Raashi Khanna.

ADITYA ROY KAPUR

Aditya Roy Kapoor who was last seen in Ludo and Malang in 2020, is all set to mark his digital debut with a web series this year. Though Ludo had a direct-to-digital release, this is his full-fledged project. Aditya Roy Kapur has begun shooting for the adaptation of The Night Manager which was initially played by Tom Hiddleston in 2016. The Night Manager is an espionage thriller where a private agent and a hidden armaments dealer engage in a fierce cat and mouse chase.

MADHURI DIXIT

The 90s superstar Madhuri Dixit is all set to dig her claws in the OTT space with her debut in Finding Anamika on Netflix. The series revolves around a global superstar who suddenly disappears. As police and loved ones search for answers for her disappearance, her perfectly crafted facade is stripped away, revealing hidden truths and painful lies in the life of an iconic actress.
