Afnan Fazli on bonding with Kartik Aaryan on Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri sets: “We used to play football together”

Actor Afnan Fazli, who plays Shoaib in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, recently spoke about his memorable experience of shooting the film in Croatia and bonding closely with his co-actors. Describing the journey as surreal, Afnan reflected on both the on-set and off-set moments that made the schedule special.

“It was an amazing experience working with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. It was really fun to hang out with them, and even post-shooting hours were more fun,” he said. Recalling the off-camera moments, Afnan added that the cast and crew often spent time together after pack-up. “We would chill at the beach, play music, dance, everyone would be there. They are extremely humble and sweet.”

One of Afnan’s favourite memories from the shoot involved playing football with Kartik Aaryan during the Croatia schedule. “We used to play football together a lot. Croatian football is very famous, and we bonded a lot through that. We also used to eat together often,” he shared.

The film was shot across several scenic locations in Croatia, which added to the experience. “The beauty of Croatia was mesmerising. We didn’t stay in just one place. We travelled across islands like Vis Island, Trogir, and Split, staying four to five days at each location,” Afnan said. He also recalled ferry rides between islands becoming informal bonding sessions. “We often travelled by ferry, which had a gaming arena onboard where we’d play football together.”

Afnan also spoke about meeting filmmaker Karan Johar for the first time at the film’s release screening. “I met him Karan Sir at the screening. It still feels like a dream. I’m still pinching myself. Ever since I was a child, I used to look up to him and dream of getting a picture with him as a fan... To now being part of his film and then getting a picture with him as someone who worked on the film, it’s a completely different feeling. He’s really humble and sweet,” he said.

Hailing from Pulwama, Kashmir, Afnan Fazli’s journey has steadily drawn attention. The actor also had a show release this month titled Real Kashmir FC on Sony LIV, marking another step forward in his growing body of work.
