Actor Abhishek Bachchan has confirmed that his recently discussed new look is for his upcoming film King, an action thriller headlined by Shah Rukh Khan. The confirmation came during a public appearance where Bachchan acknowledged he is currently filming the project but did not disclose details about his role.
Speaking about the change in his appearance, Bachchan said, “I am just flattered that you noticed that I have changed my look. Yes, I am currently shooting for my new film, which is called King.” His brief statement has since prompted speculation online about the nature of his character in the film.
Following the confirmation, fans reacted on social media with varied expectations. Some expressed hope that the role would showcase a strong dramatic performance, while others speculated he could appear in an antagonist role. Comments included, “I am expecting a Yuva-level performance,” while another post suggested, “Sid Anand should make him a ruthless villain.”
Earlier, Bachchan’s father, Amitabh Bachchan, had publicly acknowledged the project and shared a message of encouragement on social media, writing, “All the best Abhishek…it’s TIME!!”
King is being directed by Siddharth Anand and is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. The film’s ensemble cast includes several prominent actors, with the project also marking the theatrical debut of Suhana Khan. It is scheduled for a December 24 release.
The film reunites Siddharth Anand with Shah Rukh Khan after their previous collaboration on Pathaan. While the storyline of King has not yet been revealed, it is being positioned as a large-scale action thriller, and further announcements about the characters and plot are expected closer to release.
