A cancer-stricken fan writes to Twinkle Khanna, she tears up and responds

The biggest reward that an author could get is to know that her words have moved a reader beyond the surface. For Twinkle Khanna, it came in the form of a message on Instagram, sent by a stranger. A reader, who was diagnosed with last stage terminal cancer, wanted to let Twinkle know that her book Mrs Funnybones has encouraged him/her to write a journal that the children can hold dear as a memory.

“Words are powerful creatures. They are bridges. They are conduits. They are sanctuaries. Mine gave a stranger joy, hers moved me deeply. I wrote back to her this morning and as odd as it seems, I was crying,’ wrote Twinkle, sharing a screenshot of the message with us. The reader went on to thank twinkle for showing that ‘life is what we make of it and it can be laughter all the way.

I read her note and a tiny word stood out. Kids. Pain doesn’t frighten mothers, our bodies have been ripped in half before, it is the thought of the pain that our children will feel because of our absence that smashes us to bits. I wish this brave woman and her children all the strength in the world”, Twinkle further wrote.

Soon, Twinkle’s followers were showering prayers and wishes. How beautiful is it when we all pray for a suffering soul we don’t even know? May it all reach the cancer patient!
