The National Film Awards, celebrating their 70th edition, unfolded in Delhi with a star-studded gathering. Among the notable attendees was Karan Johar, filmmaker and producer, who graced the ceremony alongside Ayan Mukerji, the director of Brahmastra. The film emerged as a significant winner at the National Film Awards.

The film was honoured with the Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic) and the Best VFX Film Award. Johar, in a humble gesture, credited Mukerji's visionary direction and relentless effort for the film's technical excellence. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to support the team and celebrate their achievement. He said, “I’m truly honoured and humbled to be here. I can’t take credit for the special VFX and all as it’s Ayan Mukerji’s vision and effort. This project is his brainchild, and I’m simply here to support my team and stand by them with gratitude.”

The awards ceremony was a momentous occasion, marked by the presence of a distinguished jury panel. Rahul Rawail, Nila Madhab Panda, and Gangadhar Mudalair led the feature film, non-feature film, and best writing on cinema juries, respectively.

Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, also featured stellar performances from Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The film, as envisioned by Mukerji, is the first installment of a planned trilogy. After the conclusion of his upcoming project, War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, Mukerji is set to delve into the creation of Brahmastra 2.
