This week, the audience will be treated to a novel battle at their local cinema halls with three sequels, SATYA-2, THOR-2 and KRRISH-3, battling it out for top honours. While SATYA-2 and THOR-2 [THOR: THE DARK WORLD] have released today, both films have an uphill battle against the giant KRRISH-3 for their share of the overall consumer wallet.
The Hollywood biggie, THOR-2, thanks to its already established title and and the eighth instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is expected to dominate at urban centres, especially in 3D screens. The film has opened well at select screens and is expected to be the second choice of moviegoers, after KRRISH-3.
On the other hand, SATYA-2, which boasts of a strong brand value, faces stiff opposition from KRRISH-3 and THOR-2, since the film banks on newcomers, besides having a dull musical score. With KRRISH-3 dominating the screen space and an added competition from THOR-2, SATYA-2 will have to score furiously at the BO to leave a mark.
