Ever since Uri attacks, things haven't been good for Pakistani artists in India. They have been receiving threats from political parties, they got banned by IMPPA and the theatre owners are banning the films that star Pakistani artists. Karan Johar's upcoming directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil too has been under fire as it stars Fawad Khan.
SHOCKING: Anurag Kashyap slams PM Narendra Modi on his Pakistan tripReaders may recall that Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) announced that they would not screen any movies involving Pakistani artistes in the four states- Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Goa. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently came out in support of Karan Johar for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi on why the film industry is always the target.
Anurag Kashyap also questioned PM Modi about his sudden visit to Pakistan to meet their PM Nawaz Sharif. He even asked Modi to apologise to the citizens of India for his visit.
Right after his series of tweets, Anurag started receiving a lot of backlash from the Twitterati for calling out PM Modi. He didn't end his ranting here. After being trolled, he questioned PM Modi again on what kind of security film industry has from the people who keep threatening them during film releases. He said that the industry will not live in fear. They have been vulnerable and paying the price for everything for the longest time.
The World must learn from us.. We solve all our problems by blaming it on movies and banning it.. #ADHM . With you on this @karanjohar

@narendramodi Sir you haven't yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM.. It was dec 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM? Why?
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
@narendramodi why is it that we have to face it while you can be silent??
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
@narendramodi and you actually diverted your trip on our tax money, while the film shot then was on money on which someone here pays interest
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
@narendramodi Sir you haven't yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM.. It was dec 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM? Why?

Btw Bharat Mata ki Jai Sir @narendramodi
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
Just to make it clear, I complain because I expect my government to protect us, I question the PM because I have every right to..
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
I am not going to address a party that has become redundant and irrelevant and is trying to find relevance again by using the film industry
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
We have been vulnerable for long, and have been paying the price by being used by every one to find any kind of standing..
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
And the real trade between the two countries across the border has not faced any kind of opposition, but we must pay the price for it
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
And anyone who questions my love for the country by shouting , must prove there love by representing the country either on the border ..
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
Or prove your love by representing the country in a honourable way.. Not by shouting here..
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
And yes sir @narendramodi we need protection.. It's really high time..
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
I refuse to live in the fear created by blind fanatics that you cannot have a conversation with your PM or question him or expect from him
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
I would rather ask my questions directly to the PM than trying to impress him by fake nationalism of banning "what puts you in news"
— Anurag Kashyap (@anuragkashyap72) October 16, 2016
And media should stop trying to call me because you are wasting your time, because this all that I have to say and they were not drunk tweets
