With the debacle of Himmatwala and mixed reactions to Humshakals, we for sure know that the 'H' factor does not work for Sajid Khan anymore. In fact one of the leading ladies of the film, Bipasha Basu backed out from the promotions of Humshakals and Esha also revealed that she would not want her father to watch that film. If that wasn't enough, now, it is Saif Ali Khan who is not only disappointed by the film but has also refused to do a film with Sajid Khan again.
In an earlier interview, Saif had said that he hopes that Humshakals is one of Sajid's biggest hits but now with the flak that the movie received on its release, Saif feels that he should not be opting for films with this kind of humour. According to this Saif, he does not enjoy this kind of humour and he was constantly trying to be somebody else in this film. Probably, that did not work in favour of the film.
During the shoot, many pictures from the film shoot went viral, where Saif and Kareena were seen having gala time on the sets of the film but Saif claims that it was only Riteish and Sajid's company as people that he enjoyed, but when he saw the film, he was wondering why he did it.
Not just that, his supportive wife Kareena too wasn't happy when she first saw the trial of Humshakals. Apparently, Saif maintained that his wife had already warned him saying that his fans weren't expecting this from him.
In 2013, Saif had announced a film with Sajid Khan when Humshakals was still being shot but now, the actor is in no mood to continue the association. After vehemently deciding to not repeat the mistake again, Saif revealed that doing this untitled film with Sajid depended on Humshakals' response and now with all the negative criticisms, he will not be doing a second film with the filmmaker.
While all of this comes as a shock from the actor who was so excited about the release of this comic caper, yet another actor who suffered a similar setback in his career was Ajay Devgn. Currently, busy with Singham Returns, Ajay too expressed his disappointment over Himmatwala. Though he maintained that Sajid is a great friend, Ajay revealed that he has never gathered the guts to watch Himmatwala as yet. He agrees that the film suffered major loses because Sajid tried to represent 80s era in a spoof and according to him Himmatwala should have been set in contemporary times.
With Akshay Kumar too longer associating himself with Sajid Khan, it seems like quite a herculean task for Sajid to make his next.
