AKBAR JODHA is a masterpiece. I felt that this epic movie had a very valid and important message to convey. The message of love and unity, tolerance towards fellow kind, humanity and compassion. I have read several review of this movie, before I started writing this one and hence will not indulge in repeating what practically everyone has stated. Emprors and Empresses of their times did not have an easy life. This movie captures the essence of the politics and troubles of each kingdoms. I admired the simplicity of the two lead characters. A lot must have been prepared before they ventured into their respective characters and it shows in pristine beauty. Both Hirtik and Ashwaiya complimented each other, not just as actors but even as souls. I loved the music both songs and the backscore. The grandure of the cinema was very satifying to view in a cinema, which am sure will be lost when seen at home. This is movie to be enjoyed on a large screen. Each frame and effect has been made with the large screen at mind. The ambiance and colour of the sets are just astounding to view. In 2008 its ironic for us viewers to see how times yonder still struggled with the same petty issues existing today... but love triumphs all and that is the true message I understood. Learn to respect and live with pride. I liked that message and I am proud that this message came from no other country than our MAHAAN HINDUSTAN.

Jodhaa Akbar is a film about a sixteenth century epic romance, between a Raput princess and a Mughal Emperor. I must honestly admit that i did'nt have high hopes for this movie when i went to the cinema. Seeing that Hrithik had made movies like Kkrish and Dhoom 2, which proved to be a waste of my time(even though im a Big fan of Duggu!). And even less hope did i have for Aishwarya as i have always seen her as a beauty but not an actress. But friends i was proven very very wrong! This movie is one of the best indian movies i have ever seen.. It has it all, Love, Drama, Tears, Laughter, Brilliant battle scenes, Comedy and again the sweetest love story i have seen/felt since Kuch kuch hota hai or K3G. Brilliant movie, which i would advice all to watch, and definitly in the cinema! Or else you miss a lot of the karisma the movie has. This is not like any film the youth has seen, is so original.

One of the greatest motion pictures of our time, Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century epic romance…
One of the greatest motion pictures of our time, Jodhaa Akbar is a sixteenth century epic romance with heavy doses of electrifying drama and wide canvas battle sequences. Possibly the most ambitious and gutsy film to come out of Indian cinema in recent years, possibly decades, Jodhaa Akbar is unchartered cinema territory, breaking new ground in its filming and its mise-en-scene. Ashutosh Gowariker takes on the mammoth task of making a prequel to Mughal-E-Azam, writing the possible love story between Emperor Akbar and Jodhabai, which starts as a marriage of alliance when King Bharmal of Amer gives his daughter's hand in marriage to Emperor Akbar. From the Battle of Panipat where the thirteen-year-old Jalaluddin was crowned to his conquests and his benevolent and just role that won him the title of 'Akbar,' meaning 'The Great,' the film traces the graph of the mighty emperor and his love for the defiant Rajput princess. While Mughal-E-Azam was Salim's love story, Jodhaa Akbar is Akbar's love story. No other comparisons can be made between these two films, and both are masterpieces in their own right, rich and wide in their stagings. But Jodhaa Akbar is a film for today, contemporary in its outlook, with the central love story flavoured with political conspiracies and palace intrigue, and a very important film that besides its dramatic entertainment also makes us realise the many shades of secularism and its importance. Hrithik Roshan as Akbar is magnificent, giving a fantastic performance that has to be seen to be believed; his vocal intonations and commanding expressions, working every facial muscle in delivering his lines, makes you almost believe he is a Mughal. When he proclaims 'Yeh hamaara Mulk hai' or when he says 'Hamle ke liye tayyaar' or when he admonishes his religious adviser Saadir Adasi in his court for interfering in matters of governance, you realize what a fine actor Hrithik is. Gowariker may have taken his time to make this film, but the effort is all there on the screen. You see a mature Hrithik who not only delivers fine dialogue with great command, but Gowariker puts him through an elephant taming sequence, a sword duel with Jodhaa, battles, and a climactic combat with the main villain; making good use of the build and prowess of the star, the director makes this magnum opus as young and contemporary as possible and at the same time vividly detailed in time. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Jodhaa is so real and convincing as a Rajput princess that you feel she has never before looked so good in a role. Aided by the grand jewellery and costume finery, she shines as the princess who makes the greatest sacrifice for her people, consenting to a marriage of alliance with the Mughals. The grace of her swordplay coupled with some fine horse-riding makes you wonder what kind of preparation went behind this film. Kudos to Gowariker for making his stars every inch the character they are enacting, and more. Besides the eponymous pair, every actor puts in a splendid performance, but worthy of mention above all supporting players is Ila Arun as Maham Anga, Akbar's mother-like figure and guide, who has been instrumental in bringing up the young Jalal and now guides him in his governance. Sonu Sood as Jodhaa's brother is also commendable, and Nikitin Dheer as Sharifuddin, Akbar's treacherous brother-in-law, is menacing and a worthy adversary to Hrithik's Akbar. The cinematography by Kiiran Deohans is regal and sweeping, be it capturing the romance between the players or the action in the battle sequences; from the harsh sun-draped landscapes of Rajasthan to the torch and candlelit interiors of Agra fort, the lighting is impeccable, with all visuals aided by the rich production design of Nitin Desai. The costumes by Neeta Lulla and the jewellery by Tanishq add to the wondrous staging, creating imagery that speaks volumes. Momentum to the romance and the action on-screen is given by crisp editing by Ballu Saluja coupled with Rahman's magnificent background score, and the songs also work well with the screenplay. Khwaja mere Khwaja is divinely shot, and Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah is a song that is so grand in its picturisation that it makes you wonder how Gowariker and his choreographers Rekha and Chinni Prakash actually managed it! Hundreds and possibly thousand plus dancers create choreographed geometry that challenges all that has been done to-date in Indian cinema. A great film that is undoubtedly Gowariker's labour of love, with every department standing by his vision and helping it come alive on celluloid. The spectacular scale coupled with the veteran director's sensitive and emotionally evolved direction, a rare combination in Indian cinema, makes this film unique. Jodhaa Akbar will rule cinemas!

Jodha Akbar promo when came started with coming from the director of the Academy award nominated…
Jodha Akbar promo when came started with coming from the director of the Academy award nominated Lagaan and Critically acclaimed Swades . JA’s major problem lies here . Ashutosh gowariker after making a classic starts believing I cannot make a simple film or a simply normal love story I always need to make intense / serious films with a message . so for this he makes a historical takes name from history books and some facts and adds his love story to it . no problem in that but atleast it should be interesting . so now this is called period drama seriously I fu see the film u will know u see this every day on tv. There is a dialogue in the end of the movie that no where in history people have given imp to this love story then why the hell did AG decided to prove it as the greatest romantic story on earth . he should have limited his film to Akbar the great and it would have been a great film . now lets go to the story well to say it moves forward for first 40 mins , then goes on slow death . I seriously Wonder how people find this war scenes good . first of all both the armies are so far away that when they are asked to fight one wonders wouldn’t they become thirsty after reaching there . and guess what same thing happens . both the sides after running for 100 miles reach near each other starts applying brake instead of attacking them . its like bhaiyyo lets drink water and then will fight . usally when the armies collide they r moved backward but here nothing like that is seen I felt like I was watching mahabharata on tv . In the end fight scene its even funnier . the movement of both actors are funny . suddenly akbar becomes dhoom2 aryan and starts giving kicks to protect himself . sorry but this @#$%& I mean it just donot look like it is being held in 15th century they should be doing it with just their weapons. the hrithik – ash sword sceene is so long one hopes that akbar kills jodhabhai by mistake atleast this will get over . Another one is the elephant fight scene with akbar where suddenly akbar gets superpower and walks on wall to climb on elephant wah kya scene hai wah kya scen hai but it is being taken in wrong film . and well I still did not mentioned the whole 5 min scene to showcase hrithiks puffed up body . well how can AG let Hrithiks female fans unhappy . Now lets go to some ekta kapoor scenes . Am pretty sure everybody has watched ekta kapoor serials there is always a main lead in it ( jodha bai here ) , the vamp ( ila arun ) and a good chracter ( akbars mom ) . well its same here if u wonder what am I talking well read this :- jodhabai decides to cook food by her own hands on a dawat to make his husband happy but this donot makes ila arun happy ( her name is pretty odd something like nagini ) so in next scene when they come to give food she asks jodhabai to taste it as it may be not suitable for Akbar . oh yeah right but then scene don’t end here after jodhabais tasting of food akbar says I will eat in same thali . shitt I wanted to beat the hell out of that guy who gave me a free ticket . Ash sings man mohana song in a room but it pierces all the walls of the mughal mahal and reches the darbar . wah kya piercing awaj hai After their marriage hrithik suddenly sees heavenly light an starts dancing . well this was funny really it was unintentionally funny . Hrithik performans well and does his best but he reminds a lot like dhoom2 , krrish . he should have done something diff like put some weight to look diff. Ash is good and looks great but her role is less and nothing much to do . Character roles are all done by bad actors . Ila arun is ott as usual . Sonu sood gets 20 mins out of which 8 mins he waste on dying scene . yeah he lived for 8 mins after being hit by 8 arrows . The lady playing akbars mom and jodhabais mom are funny . during jodhabais marriage I couldn’t understand if her mom was crying or laughing . Akbars mom has no expressions as such . Background music is rubbish . music by ar rahman is good and picturisation is good except that superb dance from hrithik . Ash looks really hot In lamhon kein daama n mein . As a director AG has completely screwed the film . actually he just cannot handle such films . the interesting part he directed badly and the other parts is too boring . also scenes are stretched so much one looses patience every now and then . Cinematography and grandeur of films Is great only good thing in movie Rating well – 1/5 And well did I mention that in the movie Akbar gets critical his health is getting worse and what happens next well jodhabai prays to his god and Akbar is normal again . wah kya bhakti hai .
