Shruti Haasan calls out the trend of featuring heroines in skimpy clothes in snow; says, “We don’t even have a jacket or shawl"

Bollywood fans may be aware of the songs featuring heroines in chiffon sarees, sleeveless clothes dancing, singing, and having fun in the snow. Recently, Shruti Haasan, who is known for her straight forward attitude, called out the trend, explaining how difficult it is for a person to shoot in those freezing temperatures, especially when they are not given any warm clothes to beat the cold.

In a recent video that has found its way on social media, Shruti Haasan is seen discussing about dancing amidst cold climate, as she said (in Tamil), “I completely dislike dancing in the snow. The hero can wear a jacket. But we don’t even have a jacket, coat, or shawl… absolutely nothing. We only have a blouse and saree to wear in the snow. I would like to make it a petition, and request people to stop doing that.” Further it seems that the host prompted about her doing something similar in one of her recent releases, and immediately the video switched to her recent dance performance with Chiranjeevi.

 

 

For the unversed, Shruti Haasan played Chiranjeevi’s love interest in the Sankranti release Waltair Veerayya, co-starring Ravi Teja. In fact, one of the dance numbers of the film featured the actress sporting a chiffon saree and sleeveless blouse as she was dancing amidst snow-capped mountains.

 

Talking about her recent releases, Shruti was last seen in Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. Now, the actress is gearing up one of the biggest upcoming releases, Salaar, directed by KGF filmmaker Prashanth Neel in which she is expected to play a simple role of a girl named Aadya. It will also feature Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist and is expected to be a pan-India film that is made on an extensive budget.
